Information - Registration
Applications for the Orpheus Academy Master Classes are open to students and young professionals seeking an inspiring and intensive learning experience. To register, please complete the application form and submit the required materials before the application deadline. The participation fee includes access to all masterclasses and Academy activities. For further information regarding eligibility, tuition, accommodation, and schedules, please read following schedule and contact us in case you need any kind of help — we will be happy to assist you throughout the application process.
The Orpheus Academy Oboe Master Class will take place 18-20 September 2026.
Application deadlines are: 20 August 2026 (early bird price) & 30 August 2026 (regular price).
Master Classes
By participating in the Orpheus Academy Master Classes, each participant receives 3 individual lessons (45' each) with this year’s distinguished faculty members providing a unique opportunity for personalized guidance, inspiration, and artistic development.
Faculty Gala Concert
Each participant of the Orpheus Academy will have the opportunity to attend the Faculty Gala Concert for free, featuring performances by this year’s distinguished faculty members and offering an inspiring musical experience.
Exhibition - Instruments
Participants will have the opportunity to explore a selection of high-quality instruments and connect with leading specialists. This year’s exhibition features Manufaktur Orlowski, presenting their exceptional craftsmanship and expertise in instrument making.
Oboe adjusting workshop
Join an exclusive oboe adjusting workshop with Thomas Orlowski, offering participants valuable insights into the fine details of instrument adjustment, maintenance, and optimization. Through practical demonstrations and expert guidance, participants will discover techniques to enhance the instrument’s response, sound quality, and performance.
Academy Showcase Concerts
Each participant will have the opportunity to take part in the Academy Showcase Concerts organized during the Orpheus Academy, sharing their artistry with fellow musicians, faculty members, and audiences in a supportive and inspiring performance environment.
Lecture - Round table
A special session with Dr. Konstantinos Hassiotis dedicated to the study and interpretation of F. W. Ferling Etudes. Through a presentation and a round table discussion, participants will explore the historical context, pedagogical value, and musical aspects of Ferling’s etudes, gaining new perspectives on technique, phrasing, and performance practice.
Exhibition - Reed machines
Discover the art and precision of reed making through an exhibition by Reed Machines, featuring original Dutch design and innovative craftsmanship. The famous CUBE reed-making machine will be presented, offering participants the opportunity to explore advanced technology and precision tools for professional reed makers.
Reed making workshop
Join an inspiring reed making workshop with Arnold Tellkamp from Reed Machines, exploring precision, technique, and innovation in reed preparation. Participants will gain valuable insights into professional reed-making methods and discover how advanced tools and craftsmanship can support consistency, efficiency, and artistic expression.
